Biologically Appropriate nutrition is based on the principle that dogs and cats thrive on diets rich in quality animal ingredients. Vetalogica Biologically Appropriate recipes are made with a high proportion and variety of Australian meats, complemented by carefully selected fruits, vegetables and other ingredients to provide complete and balanced nutrition.

Why does this food contain so much meat?

Dogs and cats are naturally adapted to diets rich in animal ingredients. Our Biologically Appropriate recipes contain 65% Australian meats to provide quality animal protein and naturally occurring nutrients as the foundation of their everyday nutrition.

Why does Vetalogica use meat meal in its Biologically Appropriate foods?

Meat meal can actually be an excellent source of animal protein in dry pet food. Fresh meat naturally contains a high amount of water, whereas meat meal has had much of that moisture removed, creating a more concentrated source of protein and nutrients by weight.

That means a quality meat meal can provide substantially more concentrated animal protein than the same weight of fresh meat before cooking. We use carefully selected Australian meat meals as part of our Biologically Appropriate recipes because they allow us to deliver the high levels of animal protein and nutrition we want in a dry food.

Why is this food grain free?

Our Biologically Appropriate recipes are made without grains, with nutrition centred around quality animal ingredients alongside carefully selected fruits and vegetables. This creates a nutrient-rich approach to everyday feeding without relying on grains.

How do I transition my dog or cat to Vetalogica?

Introduce their new Vetalogica food gradually by mixing it with their current food and increasing the amount of Vetalogica over several days. A gradual transition gives their digestive system time to adjust to their new food.

Can I rotate between different Biologically Appropriate recipes?

Yes. Rotating between suitable Biologically Appropriate recipes can give your pet variety in flavours and animal protein sources. When introducing a recipe they haven't eaten before, transition gradually and make sure it is appropriate for their life stage.
